Your eSIM activates the moment you land in Europe — not when you buy it. Lock in your plan today, travel at your own pace.
— Frequently asked questions —
Yes. Both lines stay reachable at the same time, and on most phones this works straight away with no settings to change.
Just check that both lines are switched on in your phone's mobile/cellular settings after installing the eSIM — on a few devices the second line is added but left turned off. If you are not sure, message us and we will walk you through it.
Yes. Your number activates on arrival in any of the 45 countries listed on our network coverage page — you do not need to be in France.
Activation happens automatically the first time your phone connects to a supported European network. That is also the moment your plan duration starts counting, not the moment you bought it.
You will get an SMS with your number as soon as the eSIM activates, and the number also appears on the mobile/cellular page in your phone's settings.
Yes. Send us a support request with your order number and and we will look it up and send it to you, so you can share it with people before you travel.
Your phone's data usage section on the mobile/cellular screen gives you a running guide. Treat it as approximate — phone counters drift from the network's own measurement, and it is the network figure that determines your remaining allowance.
For an exact reading, message us with your order number, your ICCID, and the name and email on the order, and we will check it for you.
Yes for one-off verification. It is a real French mobile number, not a virtual or VoIP one, so it receives SMS codes from booking sites, ride-share and food delivery apps, marketplaces, ticketing, and most sign-up flows.
Do not use it as your permanent 2FA number. Your +33 number is released when your plan ends, so any account where it becomes the way you log back in — or the way you recover access — can lock you out once the number is gone. Verifying a booking site you will use for a fortnight is fine; moving your main account security onto the number is not.
A small number of services also reject recently issued numbers outright. If a code does not arrive, message us and we will check whether it reached the network.
Yes, immediately after purchase. It also appears on your order confirmation page, so you can install from there without waiting for the email.
If nothing arrives within five minutes, check your spam or junk folder. Still nothing? Message us with your order number and we will resend it.
Your QR code stays valid for 12 months, so you can install the eSIM at home well before you travel.
Not at the moment. When your plan ends the number is released, and buying another plan issues a new +33 number rather than continuing the old one.
If you need to stay reachable on one consistent number, plan for that before you buy — choose a duration that covers your whole trip.
Yes. Anyone, anywhere in the world, can call or text your +33 number and it reaches you at no cost to you while you are in a supported European country.
Bear in mind the person calling you is dialling a French number internationally, so their own provider may charge them their international rate.
No. Outgoing calls and texts only reach numbers within the European countries we cover. Dialling a number outside that list will not connect.
To reach people back home, either have them call you, or use WhatsApp, FaceTime or Signal over your data allowance.
Yes — your +33 number receives the SMS verification code that WhatsApp sends, so you can register it.
One important warning: WhatsApp ties one account to one number. If you register WhatsApp on your +33 number, your account moves there and stops working on your home number, and your contacts will not recognise the new one. Most travellers should leave WhatsApp on their existing number and simply use it over the Europe Number data allowance — it keeps working exactly as before.
We do not recommend it. Banks and finance apps treat a change of registered phone number as a security event, and a newly issued number can trigger account locks or leave you unable to receive the codes you need to log in.
Because the number is released at the end of your plan, anything you attach to it permanently — banking, or any account you rely on for recovery — can become unreachable later. Keep your bank on your home number.
Yes. If your plans change or you no longer need the eSIM, we will refund you in full — provided it has not been activated and no data has been used. Once an eSIM activates on the network we can no longer refund it.
If you activated it and it genuinely does not work, contact us before using it further. We will troubleshoot with you, and if we cannot get you connected we will refund or replace it.
Full details are in our refund policy.
Most modern iPhones, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices work. Check our eSIM compatible device list for the full list — every device shown there supports installation by scanning the QR code.
The list covers devices we have confirmed ourselves, so a very new or region-specific model may still work even if it is not shown yet. If yours is missing, message us before you buy and we will check.
Your phone must also be unlocked and free of carrier restrictions. A locked handset is the single most common reason an installation fails, so if you are not certain, ask your home carrier first.
Yes, hotspot and tethering are included, on both iPhone and Android.
If hotspot will not switch on straight after installing the eSIM, restart your phone. This is often needed the first time so the network settings fully initialise.
Hotspot ultimately depends on the local network you are connected to, and a small number of operators restrict it. We enable it on our side everywhere, but we cannot guarantee every network in every country will allow it. If yours does not, let us know.
Yes. Every order comes with step-by-step instructions, and installation usually takes about two minutes — open your phone's eSIM settings and scan the QR code. You do not need Wi-Fi to install it.
If you would rather someone walked you through it, message us on WhatsApp or live chat any time, or book a free installation session with the team at Traveller eSIM, our sister brand.
eSIM with Number: The Plan Built for More Than Data
Search for an eSIM with number and most results lead to data-only plans that quietly leave out the one thing a SIM card has always done — give you a number you can call, text, and be reached on. Europe Number is different. Every plan is a genuine Europe eSIM with number included as standard: mobile data plus a real +33 French number for calls, SMS, and verification codes across 39 European countries. No upsell, no separate "number" product to add at checkout — it's simply how the plan works. Browse the Europe eSIM with number range →
What Is an eSIM with a Number, and Why Does It Matter?
An eSIM with a number works like a regular SIM card without the plastic — a digital profile that gives your phone a real mobile number capable of calls and SMS, not just a data connection. Most travel eSIMs skip this entirely, which is fine until a hotel calls to confirm a booking, a bank sends a one-time code, or a delivery driver needs to reach you and your only option is an app that requires Wi-Fi. An eSIM with phone number closes that gap, and for travel to Europe specifically, it means one French number that works the same way across every country on your trip — not a different workaround in each one.
eSIM with Phone Number vs. Data-Only eSIM: What You Actually Get
It's worth being specific about the difference, because the two are often priced and marketed as if they're the same thing. A data-only eSIM gives you mobile internet and nothing else — no calls, no SMS, no way to receive a verification text. An eSIM with phone number gives you all of that on top of data, and for European travel it usually costs the same or less than what data-only providers charge for data alone. If a provider can't tell you whether their plan includes a number, it doesn't.
Not Just Data. A Real European Phone Number.
Most eSIMs sold for European travel are data-only. That means no calls, no SMS, and no OTP codes — and real frustration when hotels need to confirm your booking, apps block your login, or a driver needs to reach you on the road. Every Europe Number plan includes a genuine French +33 mobile number that works for calls, texts, and verification messages across 39 European countries. It sits on your screen alongside your home SIM, ready the moment you land. Learn more about how Europe Number works →

You have a flight booked, a hotel to confirm, and a dozen apps that will ask for a European number before they let you in. Europe Number is designed around exactly that trip. The Reliable European Number for Expats
Living between countries means needing a number that works on both sides of the border. Whether you are managing logins to French government services, receiving SMS from European banks, or giving local contacts a number they can actually reach, Europe Number gives you a stable +33 mobile number that behaves exactly like a resident's SIM. Activate it when you need it, use it across France and all 39 supported European countries, and let it expire when you are done — no contract to untangle, no account to close.
The Digital Nomad's Go-To for Europe Coverage
Remote work across Europe comes with a recurring problem — every new platform, every coworking Wi-Fi portal, every banking login wants a local number for verification. A data-only eSIM will not solve that. Europe Number gives you calls, SMS, two-factor authentication codes, and mobile data across 39 countries, all from a single +33 number that stays consistent wherever you move. Work from Lisbon one week and Amsterdam the next without changing SIMs or explaining your number to clients.
Forget Roaming. Seriously.
International roaming charges are unpredictable, billed after the fact, and far too easy to accumulate without noticing. With Europe Number, the price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Your eSIM connects directly to local networks across France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the UK, and 34 more countries and regions — at fixed rates with no surprise bills at the end of your trip. Unlimited calls and SMS within the covered European network are included in every plan as standard.
OTP, 2FA and App Verification — It All Just Works
Services that require a European mobile number for one-time passwords and two-factor authentication are increasingly strict about which numbers they accept. VoIP numbers and app-based virtual numbers are frequently blocked or rejected outright. A real +33 French mobile number issued on the Bouygues Telecom network — the kind every Europe Number plan provides — carries significantly higher acceptance rates across booking platforms, banking apps, government portals, marketplaces, ride-share apps, and social networks. If the service requires SMS verification, this is the number to use.
Competitive Data Plans — More for Your Money
Compare the value honestly. Where data-only eSIM providers offer 20 GB for a typical Europe trip budget, Europe Number plans include up to 120 GB of mobile data alongside unlimited calls and SMS — and a real phone number — all included as standard. You are not paying extra for the number; it comes with every plan. Options are available for 7, 15, and 30 days across our Europe-wide range, France plans, and individual country eSIMs covering destinations from Greece to Norway.
Powered by Bouygues Telecom — France's Major Carrier
Europe Number operates as an authorised Bouygues Telecom partner. Bouygues is one of France's three national carriers, with 4G LTE and 5G coverage across France and partner network agreements spanning the full 39 European countries and regions we support. That means you are connecting to major carrier infrastructure — not a fragmented patchwork of resellers — with the call quality, SMS reliability, and network priority that comes with it. Select your plan, pay securely via Stripe, and receive your QR activation code by email. That is the entire process. No registration, no form, no contract to cancel later. If your travel plans change before you activate your eSIM, our 6-month full refund guarantee covers you without question.

Europe Number eSIMs work with most recent iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, and Google Pixel devices. Your phone needs to be eSIM-capable and carrier-unlocked. Buy Now. Travel Later. 12 Months to Activate.
Your eSIM QR code remains valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, so you can buy well ahead of your trip without any pressure. Your plan duration — 7, 15, or 30 days — begins only when you install and activate the eSIM on your phone, not when you buy it. Changed plans before activating? Our 6-month refund guarantee means you can request a full refund on any unactivated plan, no questions asked. It is the kind of flexibility that makes buying in advance a genuinely sensible option.
